The South African Breweries
Born in 1895, SAB Ltd is the South African subsidiary of SABMiller plc, one of the largest brewers by volume in the world. SAB plc acquired the Miller Brewing Company in July 2002 and SABMiller was formed. SAB was the first industrial company to be listed on the JSE Securities Exchange, in 1897.
Beer, from growing natural resources through to retailing, combined with the soft drinks value chain, is indirectly responsible for at least 1 000 000 jobs in South Africa.
SAB operates seven breweries in South Africa with the brand portfolio of ten beers and three flavoured alcohol drinks (FADs).
